Genicanthus Basic Question

Really basic question but will any of the Genicanthus species be happy in a 90 (Reg)? I was particularly referring to the possibility of a female Japanese Swallow Tail down the road. I'm getting mixed answers and figured I put it out there to the whole group. I just started cycling my tank and was looking at what fish I could keep down the road so no worries if the answer is no.

Once the tank is cycled & stable, any Genicanthus sp. would be fine in your tank.

Find one you like and purchase a small juvenile.

Always Quarantine all purchases.

Good Luck

Just so you get the whole reef central experience, I tend to disagree. It would probably be ok in the short term, but with the possible exception of a female bellus, I think genicanthus angels will eventually get too big for a 90 gallon.

One female seems like a good choice. The females seem to do better anyway. Make sure they are swimming well before you buy. These fish seem to come in with bladder infections

rssjsb & betamed,

Thanks for the feed back. It's because I love marine life that I am going to investigate all options before deciding. Hell my LFS guy would have me putting a Bull Shark in my 90 if he had his way... well maybe exaggerating a bit :)...............or not.
