geo ca reactor cavitating

My geo is cavitating right now. how do i stop it? there isn't a purge built on there. I increased the effluent flow.
 
your media is not using all the CO2 that your throwing at it. Do what you did and increase the drip rate and decrease the bubble rate.

If its a continues problem, and your a DIY guy, its not hard to tap a 1/4x20 thread on the top and put a plastic ball valve on it.....

Good idea! I'm not using the probe port in mine so I need to track down a plastic relief valve with 1/2" mpt......
 
Also, if you are measuring pH of the effluent in a cup or something (since you don't use the port in the lid), double check the calibration of that probe. After making the switch to an ACIII I found out that the main reason I was having a little trouble with tank pH is that the probe connected to the Milwaukee controller was off by almost 0.5 pH units (not 0.05, lol).

The pH was much lower than the 6.6 I was shooting for, which was then dragging my system pH down, too...
