I'm going! I dont care, come hell or high water. I dont care if I get fired from my job. I really want to see it, it's close by, the tickets are not that expensive, neither is the airfare. Even though I can probably only take a day off work, I will get over there and come back in one weekend. Now, im not going to do what everyone thinks I'm going to do, which is FLIP out!!!! All I wanna know is, who's coming with me?

Ok so seriously, I'm going to go up there with some buds, who are non-reefers. I thought it would be cool to get a small group from FMAS to go as well.

I was thinking about taking a night flight on the evening of November 25 and spending one night there, going on sunday the 26th and then coming home that night! Total Trip cost with food, admission, hotel, flight is under 300 dollars and it only gets cheaper with more people.

Anyone? Bueller? anyone?

Just to let anyone know who may not be able to make this trip...we very well may put together a club trip next year.

I was just informed it would be to my benefit to go during the week rather than a weekend.

I might want to go on a Monday!

I have been and a word of advice...get there EARLY! I Aquarium sells out on a regular basis due to school trips on the weekdays and tourists and Atlanta residents on the weekend. The Aquarium is pretty cool and is definetly worth a trip up. I went on a Sunday and we got in just before it sold out at about 1pm and it was PACKED. As long as you are patient and don't mind a bunch of young children you can see everything within about 4 hours.

You can also make reservations on their website.
We went there on a Friday at 3.00pm and waited an hour to get in. It was a bit of a rush but we saw everything...they did have to throw us out though....

I wish i had that kinda money, i'd go i can even get pretty cheap hotel rates, but i have family in atlanta anyways. Ill have to go up sometime when i have some money.

It's a fun trip! Christy and I went up for a weekend in February. We stayed at the nearby Ritz Carlton, and made a nice little vacation out of it. Funny thing is, we got better pricing through travelocity than some of the packages being offered directly by the aquarium and local hotels.

I think we were in the 9am slot, and we also had reservations for the aquatic adventure behind-the-scenes tour (which I strongly recommend). You get to see the giant skimmers, surge buckets, filters, and everything else on the reef exhibit, amont others. We probably stayed till 3 or so that afternoon.

Man, I wanna go! A trip with the club would be awesome! I was in Atlanta in September for a trade show (work) and drove right by it with my coworkers...wanted to jump out of the cab and tell them I'd find them later!!! It was so tempting. Now I've seen pics on the web and it looks so great!

i was there for training , and it was simply awsome , buy the tix
on the net and with time slot or you might not even get , and recomed you get 50dollar back stage tour , ( wich i was not ableto get but heard it's awsome) , i bought the tix on the net and printed out the tickets on my printer , and at the right time I was in 2min on a sunday , but the key is buy tix ahead of time and print them out ,dont send them to will call or it will take hours, you can even pay for the tour ahead of time

I'm still trying to get some interest from club members as well as some of my personal friends. Also looking to get cheaper tickets. So far my best is $224 round trip. Before I had cheaper but as the dates approached, prices went up!
