Getting back into the hobby.

Hey guy, I have been out of the hobby for a little over 10 yrs. I had a 75 gal reef tank with 15 gal sump. The tank crashed when a clam I had had for years went sexual. I lost everything. My tank survived Hurricane Katrina and being without power for a couple days and a damn clam brought the whole tank crashing down.
Well I am wanting to get back into the hobby and was looking at the Red Sea MAX E-260. I would like to have some live rock, a few fish, corals (LPS and soft corals). Has anyone had experience with this setup and how was the lighting for corals? Good or bad experiences??
Thanks in advance.

Welcome back!

I’m personally not a fan of RedSea tanks due to their known leak issues (I don’t know about the E-260 specifically, but just in general). That said, I can’t say I’ve seen many complaints about their equipment. RedSea lighting is good lighting for pretty much any coral (there are cheaper options out there though that can work just as well depending on what controls and other “features” they do/don’t come with)

All I can do is echo Shane's thoughts. I've never owned a Red Sea tank but, based on all the reports of leaks over the years, I would never purchase one. Again, as Shane said, all their other equipment gets good reviews.
