Getting ric to grow on rubble

I have a beautiful purple/pink ric that is attached to some small pieces of sand/shell/etc. The pieces are too light to leave the ric anywhere in my tank, as it eventually floats off. I've been trying to get it to attach to something bigger/heavier by placing it in a cup at the bottom the my tank filled with large rubble. It's been over a month now, and no dice.

Any recommendations? I'd like to finally get the glass cup out of my tank.

Just superglue it to a piece of rubble. Get some superglue gel and put a big gob on piece of rubble or rock and then glue the gravel that it is growing on to the rubble. As long as there are a few pieces of gravel on the bottom of it the glue will stick just fine... I just did 75 of them that way.

Good, I'll give it a shot this week. Do you think I could slice the ric down the middle with a razor blade? It's been in a perpetual state of suspended division since I bought it. There's only one mouth though, right in the middle of where the axis of division looks to be in the pic.
