i had a peice of live rock in my tank that had a small amount of grape calupera on it. at the time i was a newby and did not know what would happen in the future, fast forward to today and i have spent about an hour removing as much grape calupera as i could from the rocks in my tank. i know its beneficial to the tank but its just to invasive and i want rid. now to the question, whats the best way to do it. plan A is to remove the rock that has the most on it and put it in a container in the dark untill the grape dies off, the rest of the tank just has the odd strand and so i intend to keep removing whats left. does this sound like a plan?

It might work, but consider what the caulerpa went through and survived the trip to you. You'll probably need to keep it in the dark 2 - 3 months minimum to ensure that the algae wont come back.
