gfo/carbon mix question

I had a gfo/carbon dual unit and sold it before I knew what i had.

I have a like new magnum 350 canister filter, could I mix the gfo and carbon put in the container and run that on the side of my sump in place of a dual gfo/carbon filter. I have the attachments where I can can control the flow rate on the filter

you probably can, but you run the risk of grinding up the carbon and it being introduced to your tank

You can mix them but as stated you must keep the flow low enough that the media doesn't tumble or grind. It's not the most efficient system but it works well enough that I haven't set up a second reactor.
