When setting up a gfo reactor to you have to rinse out the gfo? and to what extent.. I've been rinsing for a half hour but doesnt seem to clear out. I dont want my tank full of coffee grinds. I'm using a nextreef reactor
Thanks
Dave

What most people do is let the output of the reactor run into a bucket until the water turns clear. After that, it's safe for your tank. Just don't run your pump too high; the GFO should lightly tumble inside the reactor, it shouldn't shoot up anywhere near the top.

I'm using a BRS reactor with and MJ600 using their HC GFO, I run the output of the reactor into a bucket to rinse, it takes about a half gallon of water before it starts to run clear.

Same here: I add it to the reactor dry and then run the outlet into a bucket until clear (I usually run 2-3 gallons - through a big reactor - as part of a water change)

Same as everybody. Run it in a bucket and takes about 2 gallon before it runs clear. then you're all set.

Yep its the easiet way. Make sure to get the air pocket out of it. Tipping it upside down a few times will fix it
