I was feeding my emperor angelfish and noticed one of his gil spines is completely white and the other is fine. He is in excellent looking shape other than that and eats like theres no tomorrow. I feed him a variety of foods. Dried seaweed on a clip, mysis shrimp, and angel food formula with sponge and algae and all that stuff in it. Im not sure if this is actually a disease or if the fish damaged it swimming through the rock work. My water parmaters are 1.026 SG ALK is 8.5 dkh no ammonia or nitrites calcium is 380 ppm and nitrates are 20 ppm. I have a sump and some chaeto alga in it with a clip on light from lowes. Figured my nitrates would be lower than what they are but ima step up water changes and watch my feeding. It is a FOWLR so i know they are tolerable but id still like them better. I tried to google some crap and see if this was a tear and its regrowing or its a disease.
