Glass Cages Aquarium.....

I've seen several, heard experiences, and owned a used one... As buying another, not for a display tank, maybe for a frag tank or sump.

I just ordered a Reef Savvy for a new display.

I am also interested....was about to pull the trigger on a tank last night and decided to check out what people thought on RC.....a little scary to be honest, i also requested a quote from Reef Savvy but haven't heard back yet about the shipping cost.
i feel like us northern east coasters get the short end of the stick when it comes to options.
i see so many awesome tanks for sale in SoCal

+1 for Reef SaAvy but he is backed up so if you want to order be prepared to wait a bit.

You guys ordering from Reef Savvy will be more than happy, I love my tank and it was well worth the wait.

I can't speak on GC tanks myself, I have seen a few and wasn't impressed, but have never owned one.

I have a GC tank and would get another if value was a priority. It isn't a premium build but for a built to order tank, the value can't be beat.

Sort of happy with my 150 rimless.

I guess i'll just leave it at this : don't expect top of the line craftsmanship. There's a reason they quote cheaper than all the competition.

What i've learned is if you're going with a smaller tank, something cheaper, than GC is the way to go.

If you're spending serious coin on a tank, do it right. Go with Miracles, Coast to Coast, etc. You'll pay more, but you won't regret it.

I ordered a 60g cube from GC... They were recommended by a couple of friends and the guys at aquacave. I am getting it in two weeks. I will let everyone know how it goes.

I've talked to several RS owners and have seen a tank in person, all positive, and the tank I saw was the best ever.

Also, in regards to price, when I put pencil to paper comparing GC vs RS, here's what I discovered: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2005228

Isn't there a good custom builder in NJ...CoastToCoast aquarium builders or something like that??

Other good builders: Deep Sea Aquatics and Acrylic & Glass Exhibits, however, both in TX...A.G.E. would be my second choice after Reef Savvy...some good builders on the West Coast, but shipping is the issue from there. I'm picking up my RS tank while on vacation there.

So its either Glass Cages or Deep Blue 75 gallon rimless. Based on what I was told Deep Blue stands are cheap and horrible. I was thinking Glass CAges stands are made from solid oak so they have to be better....

I have a DB tank (40L) but i wouldnt buy a rimless from them. they cut corners on every tank ive seen. cheap, yes, but you get what you pay for. only reason i got mine was price, but then again i dont spend more than $10 on a frag either lol.

I have a few people that I know that have Glass Cages tanks and they love them. Still not sure what to do. I am leaning towards GC just because I can also have them make me a stand out of solid oak without having to get that pressboard crap.

Happy with my 125g, & 2 29g acrylics. Workmanship was good but the front office wasn't the easiest to work with(that was 18 months go). Jim

Find a local wood craftsman, likely a furniture maker or cabinet maker (individual, not a company)...there are several here on Craigslist that appear to do really nice work at a fair price. Perhaps a local reef club member with wood working skills is another option to consider.
