Can someone here recommend a glass cube less then 15 gal, don't really want a JBJ or Oceanic with the top and filtration in the back, thanks.

build or have built a custom cube then....a 16x16x16" cube will net you just under 16 gallons, take her down a notch to 15x15x15 and you should be below 15g.

Mr aqua has some nice tanks
green leaf does too
glass cages can build you one too...

or you can very easily DIY a nice small cube

ADA has some very nice high clarity glass cubes, they have a 12"cube for $75, they also have the less expensive Do!Aquas with regular clarity glass.

For Mr. Aqua, did you guys get their matching stand, is it easy it to drill the tank for overflow. Too bad the ADA doesn't have the 25gal cube. Thanks.

ADA does make a 25g cube; it's called Cube Garden 45-C. It's out of stock at that link, but they do make one.

As far as the Mr. Aqua's go, they're very easy to drill the sides for an overflow. I've heard the bottom are tempered, but that's just 'hear-say' so I'm not sure. I didn't get the matching stand, but it looks nice. Hope that helps. :)

Thank you for the link Obaptista, I like the stand you got from IKEA, just need something taller so I don't have to bend my knee or kneal down to look at the tank. In your build thread you memtioned something about GH 700, can you tell me what it is, is it an instruction system to cut the glass? Mind sharing the procedure about cutting the glass, like the drill and drill bits used, because I saw you taped some black piece of plexi glass template to help with the cutting, but don't know why that is neccessary.

Thinking about the Kessel light Ocean blue series, so I went to my LHS to see the actually intensity and color of it, I was very impressed on how much light that tiny LED can put out and the shimmering or glittering light is insane, more so than the halid light. While I was at the store, I spotted an 18g cube by OEM LED Light for $349, it comes with a build-in filtration system in the back and LED light, the owner said they will knock off $90 for the OEM LED if I go with the tank alone plus $250 for the Kessel LED which is currently in back order, what do you guys think, should I go for the CAD Light aquarium and save on having a sump. I really want to have a ATO so I don't have to mess with the manual water replenishment, but build in filtration system doesn't allow that kind of flexibility.

Yup- It's only 27" high cause I have two wee ones and they need to see. Also, I chose that height cause it is at eye-level when I'm on the couch:-)

Search for Glass-Holes.com. It is a site that specializes in overflows. The one I chose was for a flow rate of 700 gallons per hour. They have kits that include the bit, template and all the parts you need for the overflow. The template is necessary cause the glass is slippery and the but has a tendency to dance around. They GH has videos on youtube with all the info you need.

Follow all their instructions including those for locating the holes on the tank. There are min distances. You'll need a drill and a few other tools.

BTW, I came very close to buying either the kessel or the Ecoxotic 50watt cannon. Both are very nice lights. Look for Bon's reef for a video of the cannon. You may also want to look at the AI Sol nano. The advantage is dim-able controls right on the light. They may not be available yet. LED is a good choice otherwise you will be fighting heat issues and that means chillers and more expense. HTH
