Hi All,

I wanted to check to see if anyone in my area (Indianapolis) has experience in Drilling a glass tank, I honestly do not trust myself to do this.

If anyone has experience with this and is interested in doing the job, can you chime in or PM me a quote.

If anyone knows of a company around Indy that could do this kind of work, also please chime in.

Its quite a large tank, .5" glass, holes will be for 1" bulkheads, which I am told uses a 45mm drill bit.

Appreciate the input.

Please take a look at our local club www.indmas.org we have plenty of people who drilled their tanks including myself

Advice from me is to make sure is not tempered glass get your diamond bit,a cordless drill and some running water also take it slow when doing it

It's not too difficult so long as you keep it cool and take it slow. I suggest taking some clay and building a "bowl" around where you want your hole. Then fill it with water and have at it. I don't know which, but I believe over a certain size tank the bottom glass is tempered. Make sure you find out before you do anything or you'll have a mess on your hands. I've done a 55 gallon on the back glass, but that's as big as tried.
Good luck!
