Would it be possible to "burn" a calfo style overflow into the back of a tempered tank? Would heating a section destroy the integrity of he whole panel?

I personally wouldn't try anything with tempered glass! If you unleash all the tension in that glass in any way, your gonna break the whole pain instantly! I would just leave it alone if it is tempered. I wouldn't trust it unless it was done before the tempering process

Don't touch the tempered glass it will shatter.
