Glass tank to plywood

When I build my next house at the end of the year I was thinking of breaking down my 220g tank and building a 12'Lx3'Wx2'H.To start me off I am wondering if the 1/2" glass will be stong enough for the front of the tank useing the glass from the 220.I was thinking of useing the front and back of the tank to build the split view front of the plywood tank.So can it be done with proper braceing or is it a waste of time?If anyone has some ideas to make this work please share.

Look up beam strength in a statics text. I used 1/4" plate glass on a 2' high wood tank for years. It's left as an exercise for the student to determine the difference for 1/2" glass.

Im no expert, but a tank the size you are proposing will be holding about 3 or 4 times the designed water weight of your current configuration, therefore I would say that the glass will be to thin, but again Im no expert. just my 2 cents
