gluing Green Slimer to plug?

I have a 2" piece of green slimer I want to donate at the next meeting, but I can't seem to get it to stay on the plug. I am using gel superglue and holding it on with a rubberband, but it doens't stick.

how do I do it? Or just donate without the plug?

When making frags Super Glue and all glues like it it is best to apply a dab in the center of the frag plug. Submerg the plug into the tank and that will activate the glue. The dab of glue will immediately develop a skin creating a bubble. Take that frag and your frag plug and work in your tank, pierce the bubble with the frag and twist the glue until you work out the air bubbles. Hold under water until it hardens which should only take a few seconds. Then you should have a perfectly mounted frag. It takes some practice but is not difficult.

That said, if you donating it on Friday I would just bring the frag as is as many reefers prefer to mount directly to their LR. Frag plugs are more useful when you want to grow out frags. Being that the meeting is Friday I wouldn't go crazy.

When making frags, I will make sure the plug is dry. Put glue on the plug and then grab your slimer frag.

I like to lay acro frags on their side so they grow out from the base. Otherwise, the frag will grow straight up and be top heavy. Laying on its side gives it a better chance to grow a stronger base.

It'll be tough to do, but dry the slimer frag with a paper towel where you're gluing it to the frag.
Let the frag sit out if the tank until the glue starts to harden. I will sometimes drop tank water on top or let the frag cure in a container of tank water so your pumps don't blow it off the plug.
Good luck!
