Goby choking!!! URGENT!

I fed my yellow watchman goby his usual weekly shrimp pellet and its been an hour and he has still not swallowed it! Hes breathing slowly and it seems stuck in his through! How should i try and get it out?

I would think the pellet would break apart. I don't think attempting to grab it out would work.

I caught him and broke it up a little, its mushy. But he is still choking. Its really mushy like baby food. It looks to be cutting off his breathing . Can he do it on his own?

He is ok, couldnt find him but fed frozen mysis and he came out to feed.

FYI - fish breathe differently than we do - they breathe out of their gills, so an obstruction in their throat does not block their breathing.

Lol, sorry. You must have been worried. BTW, like the poster before mentioned, fish take in oxygen through their gills.

no.. they can't choke. unless they tear out their gills, they can't "choke".. they could starve if they can't eat, but that's not really the same as choking..
