My fiance and I are staying in Waikiki next week. Anyone have any great snorkeling spots they'd like to share with me? It will be my first time snorkeling and my first time in Hawaii. Thanks
Steve

You can snorkel right off Waikiki beach, when I was there it was pretty calm and no real current. I was there on business and only had a little time in the evenings and snorkeled off of Waikiki a couple evenings. Go down toward the Waikiki Aquarium is, and as you walk down the beach before you get there you will see a jetty that sticks out, snorkel on the right side of it and you can see quite a few cool things. Ask at one of the lifeguard shacks and they can steer you to the right area. Below is a link to a few photos I took while there back in March, the corals were from the Waikiki Aquarium, though most of the underwater fish photos were off the Waikiki beach. Both eels I saw were off Waikiki beach, the larger yellow one lives right on the right side of the jetty about half way out. The turtle was out on the west side of the Island, quite a drive from Waikiki at a beach called Makaha.

I never made it over there, but everyone says that Haunama Bay is a great place to snorkel. I was working on the other side of the island and traffic never let me get there before they closed at 6 PM. You might try it though.
