Gonipora Care

My LFS was going out of business and I picked up a nice frag of this goni. I have one goni already that has done quite well (different sp.), so I imagined this one would also do well. Since introducing it, it has slowly stopped extending its polyps.

Does anyone have one of these Goni types and have any tips for care? My parameters are all in check, and I spot feed with rots, DTs oyster eggs, and some other filter feeder foods.

Lighting is LEDs, turned down pretty low. Flow is low (I tried it in a high flow area and it seemed even more angry than in low flow).

The sexy doesn't hang out on it anymore (since the polyps stopped extending):

I'd say moderate light and moderate flow, similar to a frogspawn's preference. This is what mine prefers. I have a red one. However, I use T5's, not sure with LED's

Thanks. I moved it to a more "medium" flow area and they started coming out a bit more. I'll have to work on the lighting and see what they prefer.

Gonipora's are notoriously difficult to care for, dust them heavily with food!

Great photo of the sexy shrimp, love it!

Good Luck.
