ok guys, i am introducing a oair of flame angels and a multicolor angel to my 180gal sps reef... wish me luck

Just keep an eye on them. Not every angel does pick at polyps but if they take them out before they cause further damage.

Good luck!

Thanks, I'm plannig on adding them very small and keep them well fed, hopefully that will help.

Anyone got any tips on succeeding with this stupid, stupid idea? :)

Braver then me! I got the Bi-colored angel out about 2 months ago and now I am finally getting polyp extension. I never saw it picking, but little or no PE on healthy, growing corals. Goodluck

Yah I tried it once and the little beastie would make the rounds "tasting" my corals and had to get rid of it .

Often the picking doesn't involve major damage. From what I can tell, nice, large, established colonies have no issue. Fresh, not so happy frags... good luck if they start picking on those.

I have a mix of large colonies and many smal and miny frags.

I need to sleep on this, again. I've been battling this decision for a while

i have a Regal angel a Bicolor angel a Multibarred Angel and a Venustus Angel in my 200g sps only tank with no problems at all just keep a wide food selection and you can keep any angel you want with sps

Would you feel the same with frags instead of established colonies?

after a year being in the tank i just removed the flame and now getting polyp ext.. he started picking sps and had to go!.

I would never be able to get him(them) out. I cant even stick in a net without damaging all the branching sps.

Traps always work, eventually. It's the patience of the trapper that fails :)

I agree, if you really like them, try them. You can always remove them if need be.

Do you think I would have a better chance going with two very tiny flames rather than the larger ones most people put in their reefs?
