We are heading up to the tenn aquarium saturday and I fugured I could check out a fish/coral store or 2.
Any suggestions on which are the best?
Thanks in advance
There is a store or two in Chattanooga, but I don't know what conditions they are in nowadays. (Bermuda Triangle and Coral Reef Aquatics -not related to the one in Athens -come to mind.)
How about posting in East Tennessee Reef Club site on RC? I am sure that someone there will point you to the right direction.
Never got any good feedback from the people in chattanooga so we never even bothered looking. Had a great time at the Tenn Aquarium though. Love watching the 3 year old enjoy the big fish.
Did you go on a hehind-the-scene tour by any chance?
NARC organized a behind-the-scene tour of Tennessee Aquarium a few years ago (salt water side only). It was a lot of fun. I was glad that we did not have to clean the giant skimmers. Having a few trouble makers in the club, who managed to get themselves banned here, I was wondering if we'd be tasked with the job as a penalty...
A few years before that, I had a chance to take a behind-the-scene tour of the fresh water side. I got to see the plant nursery and the fish quarantine and nursery areas (more of the courtesy of the aquarium to Takashi Amano than to the entrourage.) It was truely impressive. While I was there, a leafy sea dragon had babies. They managed to save a few and had the babies in a round tank. They were so precious.
Being members there we have the opportunity to do that but have not yet. Was with the wife, child, and niece and none of them are that interested in all that stuff. Am thinking of scheduling a time to go up and do that myself sometime
