Good powerhead held by magnets

Korolas or Tunzie.

Cheap...expensive

My fav:
Echo tech Vortex. Electrical is outside the tank with only the propellor in the tank.

Sicce voyager pumps have really strong magnets and great flow. I have 2 voyager 3's in my 50 gallon breeder.

I've got the Koralias and am very happy with them. Just make sure they're the newer evolution ones if you're using them on a timer or wavemaker.

I've been using the Sure Grip magnets for years. They hold the pumps with enough force that you have to give them a real pull to separate them. They're a whole lot cheaper than new powerheads. They also work with the new Cobalt pumps, which are exactly the same as the old Maxi-Jet pumps.

I've had my issues with the Hydors even the Evolutions. They'll send you free parts, but its a bit of a hassel. I went with Tunze...very nice design. Easier to direct flow.

One last piece of advice. Purchase the magnets right away and make the switch. When the suction cups fail and the powerhead falls over, it will cause a sandstorm like you won't believe. Notice I said "when", not "if" the suction cups will fail.

I will plan on adding those to my next order.

This.

Another good pump to consider if you want something else later is the Tunze 6095 or one of their related sizes.
