Hey guys,

anybody know where to get a good amount of carbon for a phosban reactor pretty cheap? Not sure which brand to buy or if theres a generic one out there just as good for cheaper.

Thanks
Ryan

My mother grows orchids. Some types of them require carbon be used in the potting mix. I'll ask her where she gets the bulk carbon from.

I don't use a huge amount, so I just be mine form the LFS.

My mother buys it from this web site: Roberts Flower Supplies

Click on the Potting Mix Link and scroll down to the bottom of the page. It comes in four different sizes. I am assuming you want the smallest, which is #4 grade.

A fifty pound bag costs like $38.00. Now I will say that I have not used any of these products from this site. I also do not know of what and where the carbon is made. All I can tell you is my mother uses in in her orchid potting mix. And if you know anything about orchid growers, they are as intense as reef keepers are about quality and safety.

great prices there, thanks!!

anybody know if the "Premium ROX 0.8 Carbon" is actually worth it?

or would their standard lignite carbon work just as well for a TLF phosban reactor?
