I was wondering if anyone had a favortie sushi bar somewhat close to the coral reef?
Thought I might pop in for a bite when we come down for the raffle.

Not 100% sure, as I am not a huge sushi fan, but I have eaten at the one across the street from Meijer on Lima rd a couple years back, and it wasn't bad at all. I like the eel the best.

I think the name is Askuria or something like that. If you need or want more info let me know.

yea...thats a decent place...asakusa is what its called. and the eel is very good (its in the dragonroll with shrimp).

It is Asakusa......and there is another great one down on W. Jefferson at Time Corners called Sakura both are great. After living in Vancouver for 30 years I really miss good sushi.......these two are not too bad.

Great! Thanks for the info!

I'm just getting into sushi, But I have liked everything I have tried so far.

Except.. Don't laugh too hard. But i did not know what the ginger was or for. and ate the whole pile in one bite. Eww.

I have since learned.

laughing. common mistake. I love the tokyo rolls with tempura shrimp in them and if you like hot food try the mexican roll with jalapeno and cream cheese and cilantro......(Not real sushi but who cares)

Takaoka of Japan? Don't know if that is a "sushi bar" but it's Japanese style and they cook your food right in front of you. Superior and Lafayette.

Takaoka is currently closed for renovations as is the Gas House. Wont be open until later in year. Ahhh sushi in Japan, can't get any fresher than still quivering flesh. Then again if you want it that fresh, most of us have a smorgasboard of sushi and sashimi right in our living room........
