Good titanium heater

I bought a 500w titanium heater Finnex back in October last year and it's starting to fail on me. I'm awaiting to hear back from Finnex for warranty.

What do you guys use and recommend?
I'm looking for a replacement and will use the Finnex (if they warranty it) as a backup.

Thanks!

I bought the JBJ Tru-Temp and like it so far. The only (small) con is that it has a 2 degree range (+/- 1 degree) even though the controler displays tenths of a degree.

Tagging along as I really need a higher wattage heater. I've got two glass ones currently. Both have their issues.

I've looked at the JBJ ones, but since I have a Neptune controller I don't have use for their controller. Last I inquired they had no plans on producing and releasing just the heater. :(

I have used the Via Aqua brand and have had a lot of good succes with thaem as long as you do not the external controler wet.

Great topic, I am actually planning on two of the finnex heaters controlled by my ReefKeeper elite. So I will be tagging along looking at what people suggest.

I got those for this tank. I'm thinking about going with Eheim Jagers as replacements. They aren't titanium though.

same boat here. need to upgrade my heaters.. wondering what the better choices are. I think I'd like titanium since I had a stealth pro explode in my tank!

:fish2:I have used every model of finnex heaters and my tank is in the garage, so they are on a lot. I have had two 500 watters and they have not lasted for more than a year. I have tried 1 800 watter and it failed after six months, and I did not like having 1 stick keeping my SPS tank warm.

So ordered 3, 300 watters and they have been going strong for over a year and a half, so I dont now if reliability depends on which model you choose, and I know finnex will not reveal the individual realiability of each model, but I would reccomend the 300 watters on a Ranco controller.:fish:
