Google search specific to website (RC)

All,
I learned something from a buddy of mine about google searching. You can search for keywords on a specific site. For instance if I wanted to for "Skimmer" on RC only I would put the following in the google search box:

skimmer site:reefcentral.com

Even though I have a paid membership to RC, I found it nice to be able search for shorter terms such as "92 corner", which I cannot do on RC since 92 is only 2 characters.

Anyway, I am some of you know about this, but if not you may find it useful. And of course, you can use this search for any site, just specify a different site after the site tag.

I wanted to mention that there are still benefits to a premium membership. The google method does not allow you to narrow down to certain forums, users, time frames etc...:)

Also, supporting a tool I use daily is my Karma benefit.

The advanced search button on Google is awesome also. You can search all of craigslist for specific Items as well.

There is a link on R.C.'s front page upper left side. "Search Tools"
But it doesn't find all the threads like the 'Search' does, but still a handy tool.

There's a link right on R.C. homepage, so you don't have to go to google or whatever. then you can just type in what you want to search for and not the "site:reefcentral.com"

Yeah, I never saw that before. But my home page is google, and I use firefox, which means that i have a google search box in the browser. Makes it easier then going to the rc google site.
