it is a zooxanthellate corals you did not need to feed it but you can
More important is a strong water flow and a good water quality without any algeas in the tank

yes, you guys in europe have different sources than the US.
I was just letting the people from florida, such as the OP, know that it can get them in trouble here.
Not planning to collect my own. I know that they are protected and fully support leaving them alone on the reef, but I saw an aquacultured specimen for sale online and was wondering about husbandry.
Hi
This is not so easy like the other gorgs
You need a strong water flow medium light and as best a ULNS Tank
to much nutrition and Algea Grow are an absolute no go with this corals
i like them very much and they are an absolute favorite
for me
They like also Iodine and Flourine dosages
and you can support them with food

I've been caring for a Gorgonia ventalina for the past 10 months. In that time it has put on 1" of new growth all the way around.
I've tried to position it so that water surges perpendicular through the fan.
Lighting is 250W MH.
Feeding is a combination of frozen and freeze dried foods each day, some for the fish others for the corals.
Flow is 30x/hour turnover in a semi-surge pattern.
Total system volume is 270gal.
