I love these blue zoas. I've noticed that the green stripe around the skirt comes out much, much better in lower light.

Will add more as the day progresses....hopefully.

Very nice, Mark!

I like those blue ones too. Its cool seeing a blue other than Tubs. :)

Brandon

At least I can get these to continue living....unlike my luck with Tubs.

Man...I've found tubs to be remarkably delicate. Mine tried to die on me several times. One of my friends is actually mad at me because I was going to give him some when I sold my tank off and it ended up that they were pretty much dead.

I like the green stripe on your blue zoas. That's my favorite part.

Yeah Mel, I like the stripe too.

Here's the mother colony of them. They are not as dark (more reddish brown) and the stripe isn't nearly as visible.....yet, they are maybe 3-4 inches higher than the first group.

***Edit: These are actually lighter than what I see in the tank. They're not this light.

There's just no way to get them both in the same shot, and both be visible....but here's a try.....and yes, my glass is very dirty.

i think that yellow one your thinking of is a nuclear green paly

I go through a lot of shots to get a few that I like. I don't have a true macro, and it's about to kill me. I've got the Nikon 28-105 (macro) and a D100. The best glass that I have is a 70-200.....but it's a bit much for tank shots. : )

I'm desperately wanting to upgrade to a D300 and a true macro....but it'll have to wait a bit longer.

As for tips......take a bunch of photos and pray you get one or two that are good. :D

Wonderfully sharp macro shots! What camera do you use? What tips do you have to share?
