Gracilaria vermiculophylla?

Is this species a good algae for Tangs? I know this species was originally indigenous to the western pacific but is now alien in many areas including off of Virginia where it can be collected.

What procedure would you use to "quarintine" this algae?
Can a freshwater dip be used to removed unwanted hitchhikers. How long would you dip them?
