I bought a royal gramma and introduced it into my tank on Sunday night. The fish had been at a very small LFS for quite some time (owner said he hadn't gotten a shipment since before Christmas, and by the looks of things I believed him), and had a voracious appetite for pellets when thrown in. I acclimated the fish, and now that it is in my tank, it hides in a little cave in the live rock, and won't come out. It sits half way out of the cave, and doesn't move unless I get close enough, then it will dart deeper in the hole. I've tried formula 2 flakes, frozen brine, and NLS thera-a pellets with no success (he might have nipped at the brine). The only other inhabitants are two percs and a cleaner shrimp (in a 58gal tank). Should I be concerned, or just give him more time?
