Grand Bahama

Going there in the spring. Please recommend dive shops and dive sites. Also any interesting things to do or see. Thanks.

What part of the island are you staying on? Look up Fred at http://www.grandbahamascuba.com/index.html , they are a legitimate operation with a proven safety record, and do a very good job. Great personal service.

There are some great cavern dives there in the Lucayan Caves National Park. The Park is worth exploring even if you don't SCUBA there, but I highly recommend it.

In the Lucayan Marina Village, Zorbas has amazing stew conch. Wednesday night there is a fish fry at Taino Beach, any cab will take you.

A short taxi ride away is the Pepper Pot, good chicken and burgers. It can get violent at night so be aware or go in the daytime.

just booked the following week stay at Nassau, New Providence. Any info for dive shops and sites welcome.

ok so in freeport my choices are;
grand bahama scuba http://www.grandbahamascuba.com/
unexso http://www.unexso.com/
viva diving http://www.vivadivingbahamas.com/Activities.html

im leaning toward viva because its at our resort(http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/baham...-beach-an-all-inclusive-resort/hotel-overview) and there is no travel.

at nassau there is:
bahama divers http://www.bahamasdivers.com/diving
stuart cove http://www.stuartcove.com/

we are staying at the blue water resort at cable beach (http://www.bluewaterresortbahamas.com/)
i would like to dive with stuart cove but dont want to feel like cattle.

any advice apprecited.

I can only speak about stuart cove, but when I went with them we had a great trip. They also seem to include shark dives on many trips, which is something you shouldn't pass up.

planned on a shark dive , just looks a little busy there. how many people were on your dives with them? thanks.

I stayed in Port Lacaya three years ago. Hooked up with UNEXSO and they were very good. They're right there in Port Lucaya.

thanks for the info joe
think im going to book viva at freeport. $279 for five two tank dives if i book online and its at the resort im staying at.
at nassau im thinking stuart cove. sharks sharks sharks! $359 for four two tank dives and $140 for the shark adventure if i book online.
