great clam store in central florida

I just got 3 new croceas from riptidereef.com and they are BEAUTIFUL, great prices, nice setup (its an online store based in local daytona beach but as I live pretty close he let me go down there look at his setups and cherry pick). He must have around 4 dozen clams, all of them looked really healthy, I saw a couple maximas that I thought were really neat and not knowing much about clams asked him about them and he said they weren't for sale as they came to him in bad shape and he thought at first they were going to die but he has had them for 5 weeks to recover and they are looking better but he didn't want to sell any clam that he wasn't sure was a good quality clam so he was going to hold on to them for a while longer to make sure they were ok. Not only that but this, which I think is really awesome, he keeps his clams under 10k light with 2 VHO actinics, instead of 20k light like most places to make the pictures look better, so basically you know that what you are getting on the site will look as good if not better in your tank. He also had some really nice SPS and zoas, including some tyree limited stuff at really good prices. Sorry I'm rambling, but I think I just found my new clam dealership :-), will post some pictures up later. I'm just glad to have a place that carrys a huge selection of clams nearby, I love my local stores in orlando but most of them don't carry much in the way of clams and I personally don't care to pay the 40 bucks shipping to get clams out from California when the clam itself cost 40 bucks, Billy at riptide mentioned to me that for local customers if I placed an order for over 50 bucks he would ship free, not sure how local local is but that should make it more worthwhile for some.

Here are some pictures of the new clams, unfortunately the blue lined one I couldn't get a top down shot on with any definition due to my camera sucking and the heavy surface flow where this clam is, please don't hold it against the clam :-).

Better front shot of the black and green, only posted both as the first one picks up the black color better

Front shot of the blue lined, I'm sorry but I couldn't get a top shot as I mentioned before so you'll just have to try to imagine the stronger colors and color definition

Top shot of the purple rainbow, if only I had a super awesome camera and one of those camera water box things

riptidesreef.com.

Great guy. He ships ups ground which is guarenteed overnight so if any florida resident buys from him, it's only 10 bucks. I'm not sure anymore but he used to offer free shipping for FL residents on ebay. I've gotten some nice pieces from him including my ora tricolor and my tenuis. Prices you cannot beat.

Thanks for sharing....

Any contact info, do they have an actual store?

I want to go!!!!!

lol

Morgan this is the place you wouldn't tell me about, right?

its not an actual store the guy runs the business out of his home, but he let me come look around and he has a nice little setup, I just sent him a message via his site asking if I could come look around and pick stuff up and he said sure.

sytanik - if you get a hold of him and are going to try and go over there let me know - i want to go get a clam and some other stuff

Billy is an awesome person to deal with.
I drove down there to pick up a clam & some corals, & I must say he has an awesome set up for doing his business out of his home.

I am slightly confused, I find one address that says Daytona Beach, and another thats says somewhere else in Florida.

Regardless, Billy got back to me and said anyone is welcome to come, but he does a reverse light cycle, so he needs about an hour notice, to tunr the lights on. I asked him if we could get a phone number. Ill post back with more updates.
