My bubble tip split again. Anyone interested in a green bubble tip. I will bring it to the meeting tonight if there is any interest. this one has been splitting every month or so now. :eek2:

Please reply if anyone is intersted.

When the anenome is fully open does it look like like a brown base with green tips?
I think it is tulip anemone. they are known for there fast rate of growth/reproduction but lack the killer punch towards other corals.

Sounds good to me, never knew there was a difference.

tom-annette, next time it splits, think you could save one for me? I'll buy it off you, need an anemone for clowns. Thanks.

Well what size is your BTA? Tulips stay small 2" and under usually. BTAs get much bigger, and can split just as often as tulips. And Btas can come in a variety of colors including brown with green tips. The only way to be sure is its size and if it gets bubbled tips. If it has bubbled tips and is under 2"(in all counting tentacles)) its a majano((just as pretty I thing)) anemone. If its larger with a base alone of 2" its most likely a BTA. Of course the 2" thing is exact. But size and a picturee usually helps in IDing. And more often then not a tulip or majano is way to small for a clown to host.

hmmm... Sounds like I'd be better off with a BTA, I'd rather have a bigger anemone because I plan on getting a mated pair. Anyone have a BTA that splits and has one they don't need?
