Green Pagoda Cup Coral

Picked up my first coral today!!!!!!A 5" diameter Green Pagoda!
I''ve read that it requires med light and med flow.
I've been keeping marine fish for a long time but this reef thing is fairly new to me.
I'm running 2 250 10k MH + 2 90W VHO super actinics.
Can I hear from people who have owned one of these as to what they found best to
feed, light , flow, or any other info to help a sorta newbie out?
I've been watching this pagoda at my LFS for the past 4 months so I know if it dies... it's my own fault :rolleye1:

This is what it looked like -lights out -5 minutes after placing in the tank.

My first coral was a pagoda cup as well. I keep it under 200 watts of crappy pc lighting, about half way up the tank and its been there for about 3.5 months. I feed it some mysis every few days and it seems to readily snap them up. Unlike the other tubinaria it puts out its polyps during the day which is nice.
The only problem I had with it was a few days after I changed its flow. It retracted for about 4 days, then returned to its normal state. Seems to be a pretty heardey coral.

How much flow do you have? Med flow still means stuff is swaying in the tank. To be healthy these need that flow. It will fliter feed with good flow and therefore no real need to spot feed unless you just want to. Jezze has it right, when it got its polyps out and extended, its happy.

I have 4500gph for flow.....shouldn't it be enough?!?
Well when I woke up this morning this is what it looked like.....
Does this look like it's happy?

i love those corals, the only problem i have ever had is sediment getting trapped at the bottom of the cup. make sure that you have enough flow to kick out the debris settiling in it.

Here is mine. I have had this coral since 2000 and it loves indirect medium flow and medium light. It has been under halide/VHO combination, PC only and currently under VHO only. I think that it looks it's best now. I blow the coral with a turkey baster once or twice a week to remove any stuff that may have settled on it. Good luck with yours.

I have a cup coral too and it seems very happy. She lives a medium lifestyle--med. light and med. flow. I feed it mysis and phyto and it is flowering all the time.
