It's been a week since they have fully opened. About two weeks ago I placed them in my semi-new 29G that has been up and running for 2 months and two weeks now. Everything seemed stable in the tank but I just began to get heavy diatoms as I put my 130W CF Coralife fixture on the tank at the two month mark after I let it cycle and age for two months with no lights.
I have to say that the diatoms literally took over my tank. It seemed as though while they were doing this (the diatoms) that my mushrooms began to decline. I have since took them out of the 29G and put them in my year old 15G that they were in before. They are still not opening. They have been in the 15G for about four days. What should I do? Did the diatoms kill my mushrooms somehow? Should I take the other corals that seem to be doing fine out of the 29G? (Green star polyps, zooanthids)
Any help would be very much appreciated.
