How did you convert the GSP to saltwater? I've switched mollies over by putting them in a bucket and dripping water from the tank into the bucket till the salinity was the same. Could I d the same for a GSP? Or should it be a day or two process?

of if you are talking about the brackish puffers no I thought you were talking about a type of sharpnose puffer the brakish green spotted puffers are mean they will kill every thing I had one and within the first thity minutes it had hurt or killed every thing in my tank but GSP are not mean to each other so if you realy want them you should do a brakish species only tank for them

i used to keep 2 GSP in my freshwater tank (they were sold in freshwater and no one ever told me they needed brackish). They lived fine and ate like pigs, but i couldn't put other fish in because they were terribly mean. I eventually got rid of them because i couldn't stand having only 2 fish in a big tank.

I wouldnt take the chance

Even if its out classed by a lot. My Porc is about 5" and the Eel is 2.5'. I just seen a couple of these on Youtube full grown and thought it would add some color to my tank. But if they are Pirahna like then I guess I'll have to find another fish to add color.

slow drip worked great for me, they are going on 3+ years in full marine conditions after a slow drip and doing great. just be carefull about which ones you buy, as by the time they are sold as fresh water fish they should already be in brackish in the wild so many of them are extremely unhealthy in the stores

as for the comments about the GSP attitude mine have not been an issue. mine are with fish that for the most part can take care of themselves ie puffers, tangs, large angels, triggers, wrasses(non reef safe wrasses) but the GSP are definatly fin nippers if they get the chance
