Green star polyps

I'm running a nano tank with fluval halo led lamp and I have been over run by green moss, my star polyps are caked with it how do I safely remove the moss. I've put in a pencil sea urchin and he is doing a fantastic job on the rocks.

Hair algae? Do a search for positive ID. Nutrients are usually the problem.

yeah dang hair algae but in a 5gal tank protein skimmers hard to find, black Friday got a 150g tank and stand for 360.00 new and now setting it up tank was the cheap part lol

Sounds like you are getting too many nutrients in the tank.

After the algae is gone the pencil urchin may eat the coral or polyps. Keep an eye on it

Get some test kits for nitrate and phosphate's i suggest salifert for nitrate and hanna checker for phosphates. When you know what those levels are then bring the nitrates down to 0-5ppm and phosphates to 0.03 that should kill off the algae.
