I've had my green wrasse for several years, recently he/she has developed a very swollen belly. I have treated for intestinal worms with no effect. It has been suggested that it is a female and is 'egg bound'. He/She is still eating well but swims less and less, prefering to rest on the bottom. Breathing appears normal, perhaps slightly elevated.
Tank conditions: 100g + 35g sump, NH3, NO2, NO3 all 0, Salinity 1.024, temp 79°F. All other fish in the tank are exhibiting no problems/ stress (Regal Tang, Raccoon Butterfly, Picasso Trigger, Zebra Moray Eel). I observed tonight, stringy small quantity bowel movement, bright green.
I feed majority PE Mysis, supplemented with Nori and mix flake.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
