I am going to be new to the Tampa area. I just found out Friday that my company is transferring me to Tampa. I should be in town just after the new year.

I will be ending up in town with a 90, a couple 55's and various other smaller tanks. If all goes well I will have salt water in at least 1 glass box by the end of Feb.

Anyway I just wanted to say hello and that I am looking forward to getting involved in the community here!

Welcome. The Tampa Bay area is wonderful IMO. I came from Detroit area in 1990 and recently moved from St. Pete to Brooksville. Have a safe and blessed Holiday.

What area will you be working? Since you are looking at Land o lakes, you might want to make sure you are in Pasco County...the Taxes are less.

Moving company is moving my tanks, all my live stock is now in my buddies brand new 180. When I am up and running, one day, he will overnight me a bunch of stuff.

I think I am going FO maybe toss in some softies. I am done with the electricity bills trying to keep the SPS happy.

Im from SoCal too. Actually East County SanDiego. If you think traffic is bad in cali... Wait till you have to drive Dale Mabry at 7:30 in the morning. The roads here suck. There is no surfing here unless you love Bull Sharks and hammerheads and Hurricane's. Its way too humid. Way too many old people. Other than those little things the Fishing is great and reefing is too. If you move to Connerton I am just south of you in Wilderness Lake Preserve.

If you are into surfing you take a 3 hour drive to Cocoa Beach on the other side of the state. It's not as great as Cali but it is better than we have on the gulf side.

WELCOME!!! Clean Air, warm beach water, (I lived in Monteray some years back, the water was frigid to say the least!) MUCH better home prices, lower taxes, no state tax. But the home insurance rates will hit your wallet. Think you'll like it here!

Al lthe little things are hitting us. Auto INS is higher, waiting for Home Owners quote. Taxes were higher too, I am surprised how high property taxes are. Looks like it is close to 1.4%, I pay 1.1 in CA.

All said and done, I am going from a 1400sq condo to a 2600 sqft house for the same basic costs to me.
