Quite possible you're not getting many results because you have misspelled the name. It is GRIFFIS, not griffiths. Search for Apolemichthys griffisi. It doesn't appear to be imported very often, is expensive, doesn't last long in an aquarium (possibly due to its diet requirements), eats sponges and tunicates.

I think it depends on your definition of reef safe. It should be ok with SPS but I wouldn't risk it with lps or zoa's. it is very much like any other large angels.
