GRMAS May Meeting Minutes
These are abbreviated meeting minutes. Full minutes will be made available in the near future to paid members only at our website (www.grmas.org) in the member's only forum.
Ã"šÃ‚·Next Meeting: June meeting is scheduled for Monday June 5th from 7pm-9pm in the Family Fare Community Room. A reminder to all members meeting need to start promptly at 7pm and end promptly at 9pm to allow us to cover everything we want prior to the store closing (the store now closes at 9pm, instead of 10pm). At the June meeting we will practice testing water parameters using different brands of test kits, Brian is supplying the water, please bring your test kits so we can compare different brands.
Ã"šÃ‚·Dues: The club has started collecting dues for the year of May2006-April 2007. Dues are $24/ year, will be prorated $2 less every month until the next year. Please see Ed (treasurer) if interested in becoming a member or renewing your dues.
Ã"šÃ‚·Event Schedule: Brian Vu prepared a meeting and event schedule for members to have on hand to prepare for the next monthââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s meeting. Please check out the website for updates on this as they occur. If you would like a copy of the event schedule please contact one of the officers.
Ã"šÃ‚·April Event: Last month several GRMAS members went to see the IMAX Deep Sea movie. There were over 20 people from our group present for this event, wonderful turnout. It was an interesting movie and awesome experience. Members that attended please see Brian or Ed for reimbursement.
Ã"šÃ‚·May Event: The club event for May will be a Behind-the-Scenes tour of Pruess Animal Houseââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s new location. This event is in conjunction with the MMMCââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s monthly meeting. The tour will take place on Sunday May 21st at 6:30pm. The address of the new Preuss location is: 1127 N. Cedar St. Lansing, MI 48906. Directions will be posted on our website. Club members who would like to car pool can meet at the Park & Ride off Ionia exit approx 5:15pm.
Ã"šÃ‚·News articles: Gerde brought several interesting articles regarding the saltwater hobby/ reef related/ and feature article from the Grand Rapids Press about starting saltwater fish tanks.
Ã"šÃ‚·GRMAS Board Member elections: The club voted on the 5 current board positions. There were no new board positions created at this time. Election results:
