Groundng plug into powerstrip?

well i had an issue and i need to plug both my light's and my pump's power strips into my GFCI, and i have no room for the grounding plug in it. can i put it into one of the power strips until i grab a new power bar tomorrow?

I take it you mean that you cannot plug the "ground wire that you run in the sump or tank to prevent stray current" into the main GFCI outlet in the wall because the power strips are plugged in there. Yes, that should be fine, as all the grounds should be attached well to each other, and the only measurable resistance should be from the wire itself and should also be near to 0 ohms given the such short distance.

If you are not talking about this: http://www.marinedepot.com/Ultralif...ter_Aquariums-Ultralife-UL1711-FIMIGF-vi.html or something like it, then my statement is void and we'll need more/better understanding of the issue.

yea, mike that's what i meant...

i had a four foot power supply that i had my power strips plugged into. that strip went into one outlet of the gfci, the other outlet had the grounding probe plugged into it (has a three prong plug). well, that four foot power supply is shot, so i need to plug the two power strips directly into the gfci until i get another of the four footers. so i needed to know if i can plug the grounding probe into one of the power strips.

sry, i had just got zapped and was a little flustered

I still have no idea what's going on here other than you got shocked lol.
Did you learn anything?
sorry about the zap!
