Group buy

Okay lets give this another try. There is interest in a group buy and I'm willing to take the plung and organize this. Lets hear ideas on who to make the buy from that has what we are looking for. Snails, Crabs, Cleaner shrimp ect.

I would like a clean up crew, already said the animals I am looking for in the last thread. Some snails, cukes, shrimp.

I'd be in for cleaner, fire or peppermint shrimp. I may get a snail or crab if we can get good prices.

From the sponsors, it looks as though the Reef Hot Spot has everything - fire shrimp, cleaner shrimp, cleanup crews, starfish, etc.

I know nothing about them but as I mentioned, sponsors are more likely to do you right.

I have ordered from Live Aquaria and That Fish Place - good results, but less likely to work with you on a group buy - I would think.

I suspect the smaller places (perhaps Reef Hot Spot) are more likely to cut a deal with you on a group buy.

Prior to choosing, check feedback on supplier feedback forum.

Alright how about Florida Pets for the group buy? They have everything we are looking for and I'm contacting them tomorrow to see if we can get a group discount.

Alright gang here's the scoop.

We have a 20% discount for anything and any amount we order. You can place your orders individually and have it shipped to you directly. If it is under $50.00 there is a $8.00 shipping fee if the order is over $50.00 then free shipping. So it's your choice if you want to order on your own or join in a group buy.

There is a special link for the discount price and will be up for 10 days. It's being sent to me and I will post that as soon as I get it.

Are those the prices or have you contacted them and they are giving a discount. Otherwise they seem as high as LFS in the area. JMO

If you look at their normal site that does reflect the discounted price. 75 cents normally for a viex verses 55 cents on the sale page. and the last time i bought any of those they were over a $1 a piece locally.

Fun fun. Work has training on Tuesday and Wednesday so I'm going to set it up where the shipment will arrive next Thursday.
