Growing acropora

I just got to make this statement, Ever since I started growing acros, yes it takes some work and dedication, some might even say its difficult. I agree. But now that I selling frags, lm seeing growing them is a whole lot easier then selling them. No body wants acros, not even the only saltwater reef shop where I live can support them. Whats up with this. Dose anyone else have this problem.

Sps are hard to keep! So most stores have a hard time keeping them alive or keeping them from browning out. Turning a $100 piece into a $10 frag.

It depends which ones. I don't keep MBP&S, but you almost have to give those away. I can still do pretty good with chunky, encrusted versions of the basics like Blue Tort, Red Planet and the like that. ORA stuff is really good at always being worth something, but you need to be 1" and hopefully a few branches to get any kind of value.

Deepwaters and the old school classics are easier to sell and will keep their value, but people want to see them thriving in your tanks. I can get more per frag when showing them under MH that the other people in town with them looking so-so under LEDs, but growing well.

You can do OK for a while with the trendy stuff, but they always go down pretty quickly... Fox Flame is less than $50 a frag here now.
