Growth on firefish

There is a growth on my firefish. It doesnt seem to be solid, it sort of sways in the current. Almost like a piece of skin is hanging off. There is one other area of slight discoloration but I never thought anything of it. Just thought it was normal. Ive had fish with ich before and this doesnt look the same. Any ideas?

it is hard to tell by the pics can you dive more detail? also is the fish eating fine and swimming fine ? Acting normal?

fish is eating just fine, swimming fine also. today the growth is gone and the area where it was seems fine. there is a small discoloration on the back fin and another on his side. its odd. DOnt think the discolorations are HLLE anything else that can cause this?

Pics not very clear but it looks a bit like lymphocytis to me .. a viral issue (akin to warts) that is seldom fatal, no meds work, and often clears up on its own. If so, good water quality and healthy food will help maintain fish's immune system which make be the best cure.

I have just switched ISPs and was without the net for a couple days. It has in fact cleared uop and the fish looks fine now. ill keep an eye on her. Thanks for all responses
