I posted this in the newbie forum as well but wanted to see if I could get any information over here as well:
Being that I was a marine science major (I knew I should have kept those books around after college :lol: ) I am always interested in learning more about these incredible creatures we keep.
I know that it always says keep say a Powder Blue Tang in nothing less than a 100 gallon tank but I am curious about the actual growth rates of these fish. If you bought a small PBT (say 2" long), how long would it take for it to grow another inch or two? I'm curious because it seems like a lot of people get tangs or other "going to be large fish" when they are small, get "reprimanded" because they are large tank fish although they are usually people that intend to go larger in the future.
I'm not sure if this information (fish growth rates) is somewhere on this great resource or somewhere on the web but I just wanted to see if anyone had any info. they might share or somewhere I could read more about this. Thanks in advance.
