GSP Removal?

I've got a few different patches of Green Star Polyps that are just spreading like crazy. What's the best way to remove from the rock? Can I just safely peel it off? Any tips?

you can just peel it and glue to plugs or rubble to sell.. i just scrape away whats left with my fingernail you have to get it all off or it will grow back

Well, peeling didn't really work. The rock is very porous. Looks like I'm gonna have to find a wire brush. Could flip the rock over so it gets no light, letting it die off? Would have affect the water parameters too negatively?

depepnding on the size of the rock and what all is on it you could get a bucket and mix up some salt water at 1.40 or so and drop the rock in it for a few days......thats how i got rid of my xenia and kenya and gsp chunks.

You should be able to find a leading growth edge somewhere that can be peeled up. Once you do that you should be able to remove large portions as a single piece, even on porous rocks.

Are GSP frowned upon now a days? I like the way they look in pictures, and a friend just mailed me some frags he had in his tank of some GSP. My other buddy is telling me to throw them away when I get them because I dont want those in my tank. They look great, what is the main issue? That they spread like wildfire and take over your tank? Do they harm anything?

I am the same way I like them rumor has it though once it opts to spread it can be a pain. However I have had mine spread a little into area's i did not want it and I just cut it back. Takes a little aqua gardening but eeh oh well. Looks cool.
