Guardian Fairy Wrasse ?

So we acquired our final fairy wrasse Saturday ( Aussie Labouts ) , he is in the tank with a Rhomboid, Pink Margin and a dreaded Mystery Wrasse. Acclimation went smooth, kept him in a breeder net overnight. He seems anxious to come out from the rock work and swim.

THEN.... the dreaded mystery wrasse decides he is going to pick at the Labouts. Now when we added the Rhomboid, this went on for a very short while. Long enough for the Rhomboid to stand his ground. The Labouts seems more peaceful and just darts back into the rock work. He does come out and eat heartily, so atleast we know he is getting food. We decided a light time out was in order.

FINALLY to the questions
1. Will the mystery wrasse soon grow bored and leave him be ?
2. How on earth to you catch the war painted masked face wrasse ?
3. Has anyone experienced your other fairy wrasses kind of playing the go between with the mystery as if to protect the labout ?
4. Should we continue a light time out and will this only delay the picking ?

Try a fish trap.

How big is the mystery? They get very aggressive as they get bigger, and most of the times do not play well with fairy's or flashers.
1. Probably not. Especially in the long run.
2. Get a good fish trap and start to feed the tank in the trap the fish will all start to go in to eat.
3. No all of mine were afraid of the mystery.
4. Will only delay IMO.
I would get a trap and leave it in the tank for a day and then start to feed from the trap.
I put my trap in on a monthly basis and feed from it, some of the fish go in before I even get the food in it. They all go in and out no problem, but it will take a few days for the mystery to go in.

Yes if fish could have pot bellies all of ours do. We feed twice a day , mix of Rods, Pellet and Fake.


The mystery is about 3 1/2 inches
Is there any specific fish trap that is better than another ? Sorry no experience with having to trap a fish.

Thanks right now we are trying the old bottle trick. So far caught the Rhomboid returned him to rockwork , but the mystery is greedy only a matter of time
