H. Melanurus - Mystery

I added a Melanurus Wrasse to my 180g. Reef tank on Saturday. It was eating well in the store, swimming around very active. Same thing when i got it home, aside from the ususal curiosity of the other fish, it did not seem stresed or bothered. Before the lights went out it disappeared.... That was the last time I saw the fish, now it's wednesday. I know that some Haliochores wrasses can stay hidden for"days" I wonder I'f I'm being paranoid or it wil come out when it's good and ready?
I can not find the fish on the floor, or in the tank any where. Usually when a fish goes in my tank an army of brittle stars converge on the decaying fish.
Am i being impatient ,or expecting to much yet?

My H. melanurus is pretty active and is usually always out except at night, but with any of the sand-diving wrasses, you need to wait a week after adding to a tank before getting too upset. Try feeding something they really like like chopped clam or shrimp chunks and see if you can lure him out. good luck.

hiding. some fish take a while to get adjusted to the new lighting and all that. i have a yellow coris wrasse that hid for a few days but would only come out or a few mintues and then went back to the sand bed all day. now he has a weird schedule and comes out from the sandbed at 10am everyday even though the lights come on at 7am
