The Reef Octopus OTP 1000 or 2000 would work great, Likely the 2000 would be overkill for 55gl but it would all depend on budget. My 75 gallon was sustained without a problem at all with a RO OTP 2000.

I was using the RO BH1000 on my 65g. It worked great....pulled a lot of gunk, quiet, and easy to clean. I recently upgraded to an in sump skimmer, and my HOB is now in my 30g quarantine tank.

I've had really good luck with my Aqua-C Remora HOB skimmer.

It's easy to clean and maintain, picks up a lot of gunk, and uses a "spray injection" system to keep your water clean. Here's a link:

I just got an Eshopps 75 HOB for my 40 gallon. A little smaller and cheaper than the RO-90 I was considering. I love it so far. no complaints from the wife about noice or being an eyesore, and pulls good skimmate after just a day, so it's a winner in my book so far. Slight leak when I got it, a bitof 2 part epoxy fixed that in about 10 minutes though. I'd either gofor the Eshopps or RO-90

Have a reef octopus bh1000 on my 36 gal reef and it does a great job. Can hardly see through the skimmate it is so dark.

What would be good for my 75 gallon tank if I'm thinking of going with a heavy stocked tank? I was thinking either the eshopps psk 150 or 100 or the reef octopus 1000 or 2000. What would be good for a heavy stocked 75 gallon tank? I have a Red Sea prizm right now.:wave::wave::wave:
