H&S skimmer too big? Is overkill bad?

Thanks Guys, I have a choice to make.
I found an H&S A150-F2000/1 External Protein Skimmer for $200CAD.
And an
H&S Skimmer 200-2xF2001 Internal for About $225-250 CAN.

The 150 external is rated for 225G
The 200 internal is rated just over 500g
I plan to run either one insump.

Both skimmers seem to be in fantastic condition and everything I have read about H&S is top notch dispite being a dated design.

My tank is a total of about 200 Gallons, lightly stocked (right now, I just spent a fallow period for ick) but I plan to be heavy medium to heavy heavy.

Is the 200-2xF2001 way overkill to the point of being ineffective for my tank?


They bothe use Aquabee pumps and I was able to Find a local source for Aquabee needle wheel pumps for $149CAD in case I need parts or new pumps. can someone tell me if these are the correct pumps?

My brain is telling me to get more skimmer for about the same price but it may be just silliness.... I suppose I should consider only needing to replace 1 pump instead of 2....
I will not be upgrading... This is my last tank. Lol.

I am a big believer in matching the skimmer to the tank.

I would go with the bigger skimmer. Skimmer ratings are usually overstated, and the larger skimmer will permit a higher bio load down the road.
